Motion's angle is different: it takes your tasks and meetings and auto-builds your calendar, re-planning as things change. For people who spend real time deciding what to do next, that's transformative. It's less of a team project hub than the others and priced per person, but nothing here matches its AI scheduling.
Notion
Notion is the blank canvas: wikis, databases, roadmaps and tasks in one flexible space, with AI that can query your workspace. You build the workflow instead of adapting to one — powerful for content and product teams, but it drifts into sprawl without conventions, and dedicated PM reporting is limited.
Asana
Asana gives you structure out of the box — tasks, projects, portfolios and Goals that ladder to strategy — with a calm interface that scales to a whole org. Timeline and reporting sit on paid tiers, and it's less customizable than Monday, but for coordinating a lot of moving work it's the reliable pick.
Monday.com
Monday.com is the most visual and configurable of the five: colorful boards you shape into anything, the easiest no-code automations, and rich dashboards. It scales into a Work OS with CRM and Dev add-ons. The trade-off is more setup and a 3-seat minimum on paid plans.
